A letter to Annu

13 Dec

Dunno why you have been hogging my thoughts lately, predominantly so. Is it because you too have been thinking of me at the same rate?? No clue.

Although you are physically distant, Abbas and I constantly feel your presence in the form of your grand-daughter (Mannu). With her around, it’s as if a miniature you is living with us.

When she gets bugged with that particle of food stuck in between her teeth, I am transported to those times when you and I would sit in the drawing-room armed with a tooth pick each in our hands post a meal.

When she sits royally with her one leg perched on the other and both her palms joined to act as a headrest, I am overwhelmed by the miracle of nature.

When she stands besides Abbas and watches him shave, memories of me by your side waiting for you to smear that after shave on my cheeks gush in.

When she expresses her obvious favoritism towards Abbas over me, he tells me “Seemu, now I know why your Dad is mad at me. I took his treasured gem away.”

I know Annu, that you think I am a traitor for I betrayed your trust. You might never embrace me in this life of mine. But would you not like to experience the joy of holding your replica in your arms?

Just had tears in eyes and lump in my throat.Have patience dear I hope your parents accept your marriage one day and that day may come soon.I understand how painfull it would be when you think of your family.Be strong dear ,take care.

On a side note I just hate this society. Its coz of we human being that have made certain norms as tabboo in the society.I am sure your dad too misses you and kids its just pressure from the society that he is not able to accept your wedding.Hold on dear thing will certainly turn and Mantam will get maternal grandparents love.Hugs

A big hug from me, Seema!

Believe me, the day is not far off – when your Dad will come to terms with whatever has happened – and be back at loving you with all his heart. Keep your faith. Things will definitely turn out to be better.

Can I suggest something please dont get offended , Call HIM.. go meet him..

it does not matter who takes the first step .. If you are feeling that way I am sure he is feeling that way too and seeing the little grand children he will melt like anything , I know.

Just give it a try , life is short veyr short and time is not in our hands. I am saying from my point of view , so i might just be wrong.. I would do it what i have said ..

Lots of love to you and Abbas .. and more to the little ones ..

Two of my cousins , they are real brothers, had a problem did not speak for 20 years , and all it took was I had gone to india after 5-6 years I took the younger one to the elder .. THATS ALL IT TOOK and they wasted so many years ..

I sincerely wish and hope that day comes VERY soon , maybe tomorrow that all get united and MUCH more happiness comes ..

You take care and sorry if I overstepped my mark..

I am sure everything will be fine in a while… Let me tell you, I have had a similar type of marriage. And, we waited about 4 years for both sides approval… it took us four years, but both families finally accepted the situation and then we got married…
It takes time… but things work out. At the end of the day, parents want to see their kids happy… and when kids are visibly happy with their choice, parents eventually find happiness in accepting the situation…

      We’ll certainly be in touch.

You wanna have twins? It’s not that difficult as it appears to be. First three years were tough, we can reap the benefits now. Although they are double the trouble, they are double the joy too.
