7 Meme Tag – 100th Post

Okay, I finally reached my 100th post on this blog after 4 years of blogging. I started blogging way back in 2008 during my pregnancy. My doctor had prescribed strict bed rest for one whole month before delivery as Tammu was not getting much space to grow. That one month was a nightmare to me as I was not allowed to do anything around the house. Once in a while I used to spend some time online looking up names, reading websites related to babies. That was when I decided to begin blogging and jot down my experiences as I take on this journey called motherhood. I also started my food blog when I resumed cooking post Mantam’s birth. This blog got updated occasionally and I had kept it private for the initial few years. When I made it public, it hardly had any readers as I was myself alien to the whole new world of Mommy bloggers. When I quit my previous job, during a random conversation with RS (we worked in the same organization and Chutku and Mantam went to the same day care) about keeping in touch, we happened to learn that both of us were bloggers. Through RS’s blog, I got introduced to many other blogs, got to know many wonderful bloggers other than the food bloggers that I was familiar with. I have many readers now compared to the only one reader whom I threatened  requested to read whenever I posted. I feel thrilled when I see comments on my posts and have begun thinking of every silly happening in and around me in terms of a blog post. I’m sure I’ll enjoy reading this space when I’m old (Not sure of Mantam though) and hope to continue blogging regularly for posterity’s sake.

When RS tagged me, I thought this was an apt time to do the tag. Here are the rules:

1) Blogger is nominated to take part

2) Blogger publishes his/her 7 links on his/her blog – 1 link for each category. The links are:

– Your most beautiful post
– Your most popular post
– Your most controversial post
– Your most helpful post
– A post whose success surprised you
– A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved
– The post that you are most proud of

3) Blogger nominates up to 5 or more bloggers to take part. – Since RS had written in her post ‘That is upto their discretion if they want to pass the tag on or not ‘, I am not gonna tag anyone. Coz most people I know have already done this tag. Please feel free to take it up.

4) These bloggers publish their 7 links and nominate another 5 more bloggers –

5) And so it goes on!

So here we go…

– Your most beautiful post

I think the posts I wrote describing Abbas as the ‘To Be Dad’ and as a father appeal to me as beautiful. Because, these portray a different fragment of his personality that came up only after I conceived.

– Your most popular post

I think I would choose my ‘Cold Excursion’ series as my blog stats spiked up during that time and I got many new readers. I am planning to create a new page with links to all the parts there.

Here is the first part: https://seemabbas.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/cold-excursion-part-1/

– Your most controversial post

I have never written anything controversial as most post are too personal and revolve around our day to day life. But recently I wrote two posts stating my opinion about topics life fasting and how a few customs pose gender bias.

– Your most helpful post

Most helpful posts I guess would be the craft related ones. Although I have not done any pictorial to help readers, I have given links that inspired me.

– A post whose success surprised you

I dunno how to measure success of a post. I don’t think I can take the stats as a criteria to decide because with time, readership increased and accordingly stats for recent posts are higher compared to the older ones. I would like to choose a few posts that I wrote straight from the heart and wondered if they would be irrelevant when people read them. But I was surprised by the comments as many were able to connect with my emotions and the perspective with which I had written the posts.

– A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved

A few older posts when I did not have readers.

– The post that you are most proud of

This is one post I go back to often, read, shed a few tears and wipe them with a strong heart full of hopes.

Phew, I’m done! Heartfelt thanks to all you wonderful people who come back to read me. I’m addicted to blogging and I’m loving it 🙂
