A Vacation in Town – Part II

02 Jul

I missed something very important in the last post. It was Piyaji (the Onion Pakoda) made by Kaku. Kaku’s onion fritters are to die for. Pics of him in action to follow:

Coming back to Monday we started from home at around 9 AM but reached Wonderla only at 12 noon. We first went for water Play pool. I chose to stay back to click pictures and take care of our bag. Ma was the one who kept on saying that she was not interested to go to WonderLa as she was aged and that she would have to be a dumb spectator. But after getting into the water, Kaku, Kakima and Ma created a riot together. Ma even went into the water slide. From there, they went to the Sea Waves. Abbas had taken both Mantam in his arms. When the waves began striking, he was caught off-guard, almost dropped his daughters in water and then backed out. By this time, Kaku was feeling dizzy, so he took some medicine from the first aid sections and took rest on a bench. We kept the bags close to him and went to the Lazy River. It was awesome.

I changed Mantam into dry clothes. Our clothes had almost dried out. We had lunch. Kaku felt better after lunch. We were all ready to explore the dry rides. Kaku and Kakima were reluctant to go on any of the rides as both are afraid of heights. We left Mantam back with them, and took Ma and Ummi along. It was a 360⁰ ride wherein our seats were going to rotate as well as revolve. Ma and Ummi were terrified, both kept calling their respective parents, ‘Oh Ma Go, Oh Baba go…’ Ma swore not to go with us on anymore rides. Next we went on a Hurricane.Ma didn’t join us. It was outrageously crazy. You are tossed in the air in all possible directions fiercely.

By the time we came back, Mannu had begun crying coz we didn’t take them along. I assured her that we will take her along next time. From there, we went for a 4D movie show. We were all given 3D glasses and the seats were also moving as per the movement in the scene. All was fine until, a snake was shown popping its tongue out right at us. Ma began screaming. Kakima and I were seated on each of her side and she was clutched both of too hard. Kakima was asking her to remove the 3D glasses and I just couldn’t stop laughing. She closed her eyes and opened after a gap of 5 seconds. The snake was still there and she graduated to shrill screeches.

We attended the musical fountain and lase show. It was spellbinding too. Next target was the train ride in an anthill sort of setup. All of us could go together, we went twice in the same ride. Mantam sat on few kid friendly rides too. So when we moved on the tilted saucer kind of a ride, we thought they will stay back. But as usual Mannu began sobbing that she also wanted to go. Ma and Kakima tried to make them understand but they were in full mood to not forego any ride kids and adults unlike. So we took them with us. They enjoyed a lot. We were surprised or what. The brats were not at all scared 😀 So,we went on the same once more. They came with us on few other rides like Wagon wheel, ropeway… which took us high up in the air. These girls were simply bindaas. Thank god for small mercies.

At the end we went on dashing cars, all rides were closed at 6:30 PM. We headed back home. Somewhere on the way, we took a wrong diversion and went a long way on the same route. After travelling for quite long did we realize that we were about reach Bannerghatta National Park. We then came all the way back on the same route and reached home at around 10 PM. Then again I made Rice, Dal and Alu Bharta.

Next day we all woke up with body pain. Mantam went to school. Yeah, their school reopened on Monday. We stayed at home only and hogged on yummy food made by Kakima. I was just the assistant helper. At night again, Kakima made Luchi and Ghugni. We all ate as if we had been starving for years. Poor her fried Luchis as if serving a battalion. Next morning we all went in Bulu, dropped Mantam and went for some last minute shopping. Post lunch, we played Uno again till dinner 😀

They were supposed to catch train at 8 PM. Kakima made 3 varieties of Fish Roe which I’m go bananas over. I made my Konkani style Lady Fish fry for them and they all loved it. Lunch that day was like a feast. There were too many dishes on the table that we were finding it difficult to choose. Needless to say that I didn’t have to cook till Saturday 😀 Post lunch, I made Hakka Noodles for them to carry in the train. Packed steamed idlis and roasted idlis for them. I made 2 batches of frosted cupcakes for Mimmi.

We left home at around 7:45 PM and the train arrival time was 8:05. We stay very close to the railway station. It hardly takes 10 minutes. We reached at around 8, the platform ticket counter was closed, we hurried as we had to take the skywalk to reach the platform. The train was late by almost 30 minutes. We finally bid them goodbye with a heavy heart. 😦

Yeah, that’s me in the black grey salwar. Thank you *blushes*

Awww, I’m glad I could write that well. I was wondering if it would be boring to read.

They effortlessly got back to school, touchwood!

Liking? Given them choice, they would wear it all the time!!!

The thing is the dresses are so comfortable for them, added advantage is the wavy skirt that flows from the hip… Thanks so much SnS.

One day is certainly not enough… Wish we could spend more time…

Dunno Visha, it’s just that I love to eat and live to eat. I love experimenting. They do fail but learn with trial and error.
